Workshop for Government Officials - "No to Gender Violence in Sri Lanka"

Canadian volunteers Ms. Jennifer, Ms. Marcia and Ms. Twyla along with key gender trainer Ms. Inoka Priyadharshani conducted a two-day workshop on the topic "How to support marginalized women and children during economic crisis". The workshop was held on 23rd and 24th February, 2023 at Mirijjawila Devi Rest, Hambantota. Thirty government officials participated including Women Development Officers, Counseling Officers, Child Rights Protection Officers, Child Protection Officers, Health Officers, Economic Development Planning Officers, Samurdi Officers, Police Officers and Early Childhood Development Officers in this program. The initial steps to prepare the District Action Plan on sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) were discussed during this two-day workshop.
