Graduating The Poor (GTP) Medirigiriya
img

The aim of this project is to provide support for the poorest of the poor population in the Medirigiriya DS Division in Polonnaruwa District to uplift their lives. This project is funded by Palmera Projects, Australia and commenced in November 2021. 20 GN Divisions in Medirigiriya DS Division were filtered and only 120 families were selected for the support under this project. Most of the families can afford only one meal a day and these people lacked any livelihood. This program aided in providing home garden support and training to make these families self-sufficient. There are a few families who cannot even afford one meal a day. Currently a packet with dry rations is being provided to these families monthly. This assistance will last until they are able to begin their own home garden and become self-sufficient by the support and training provided by project.
